Women’s Ministers Meet in Barbados

The Commonwealth's 9th Women's Affairs Ministers Meeting begins in Barbados this evening.

The Commonwealth’s 9th Women’s Affairs Ministers Meeting begins in Barbados this evening.

This triennial meeting will focus on women’s role in economic recovery. Ministers and Senior Officials from 36 Commonwealth countries are expected to attend.

It follows a two day Partners Forum at which civil society participants discussed the meeting theme: ‘Gender Issues in the Economic Crisis, Recovery and Beyond: Women as Agents of Transformation’.

The opening ceremony will take place at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre in Bridgetown.
