Commonwealth Secretary-General Don McKinnon today embarks on official visits to the United Republic of Tanzania, Kenya and Malawi.
Mr McKinnon will hold discussions with President Mkapa of Tanzania, President Moi of Kenya and President Muluzi of Malawi, as part of his ongoing consultations with Commonwealth leaders. The New Partnership for Africa's Development (NEPAD), drought and food shortages in Southern Africa and programmes involving Commonwealth assistance and co-operation will feature in the talks.
