Commonwealth Secretary-General to visit Ghana

The Commonwealth Secretary-General, Don McKinnon, will visit Ghana from 9-11 May 2002.

During his visit, the Secretary-General will hold discussions with the President of Ghana, HE Mr John Agyekum Kufuor, and members of the Government.

Mr McKinnon will call on the Asantehene (King of Ashanti), Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, in Kumasi. He will also meet the Speaker of Parliament and leading parliamentarians, including the minority leader, as well as representatives of civil society. The Secretary-General will also visit the University of Ghana, Legon, where he will speak to students about the Commonwealth.
