Commonwealth Secretary-General Don McKinnon will visit Brisbane, Australia, on 15 August to review preparations for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) to be held 6-9 October, the biggest gathering of world leaders this year.
He will visit the main venue for CHOGM, the Brisbane Conference and Exhibition Centre, where he will meet members of Australia's CHOGM Task Force.
He will also meet Queensland Premier Peter Beattie.
Mr McKinnon said: "I believe we can look forward to an extremely well-managed event that does justice to our member countries' need to hold frank and fruitful talks."
