Commonwealth Secretary-General to visit Tonga

17 August 2000

The Commonwealth Secretary-General, Mr Don McKinnon will visit Tonga from 18-19 August 2000 for wide-ranging talks on Commonwealth issues, including preparations for the forthcoming Senior Officials Meeting to be held in Apia, Samoa, in October.

During his visit, the Secretary-General is expected to pay a courtesy call on His Majesty King Taufa'ahau Tupou IV and meet with the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Defence, HRH Prince Ulukalala Lavaka Ata.
