Note on Media Accreditation
The fifth meeting of Commonwealth Youth Ministers (CYMM 2003) will be held at the Gaborone International Convention Centre in Botswana, from Wednesday, 28 May to Friday, 30 May 2003. It will be preceded by meetings of the Regional Advisory Boards and Regional Youth Forum on Monday, 26 May, and the Pan-Commonwealth Youth Caucus and Commonwealth Youth Programme (CYP) Committee of Management on Tuesday, 27 May.
The theme of the CYMM 2003 will be "Young People: Development Partners Against Poverty and HIV/AIDS". At the meeting, ministers and senior officials from across the Commonwealth will discuss progress in member countries on youth and related issues.
Press briefings will be conducted and press releases will be issued periodically by the Commonwealth Secretariat. A Press Conference is scheduled to be held at the end of the Meeting on Friday, 30 May 2003.
A Media Centre will be established in the Grand Palm Hotel, Gaborone. Entry to the Media Centre will be through Media Passes.
Media representatives wishing to attend the meeting should complete the attached accreditation form. Applications must be accompanied by a letter on an original company letterhead indicating the role of the applicant, signed by a senior editor and confirming the applicant has been assigned to cover the meeting.
Accreditation is open to all bona fide news organisations. Freelance media personnel must be assigned to a recognised news organisation and present a letter confirming their assignment.

Applications should be sent by mail or fax to the Commonwealth Secretariat, to be received not later than Tuesday, 20 May 2002. Media Passes will be issued on-site in Botswana from Monday 26 May. All media personnel entering Botswana should be in possession of a valid passport and, where required, a visa. The Government of Botswana has advised that nationals of the following countries require visas for entry into Botswana: Bangladesh, Cameroon, Ghana, India, Mozambique, Nigeria, Sri Lanka.
