Commonwealth Secretary-General Don McKinnon today vigorously condemned the attacks on the World Trade Centre, the Pentagon and other targets in the United States.
In a letter to the President of the United States, the Secretary-General expressed horror at this barbaric act of violence. "This reminds us all of our common duty to fight all forms of terrorism in the world, wherever it takes place, however it is presented," he wrote.
"All our thoughts are with the families and friends of the victims at this tragic time."
