An annual reception to mark Commonwealth Day was held at Marlborough House, the Commonwealth’s headquarters in London today.

The reception was attended by The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall. The Commonwealth Secretary-General greeted their Royal Highnesses, before introducing them to guests including High Commissioners, Commonwealth youth representatives and other Commonwealth organisations.

At the reception, guests celebrated the work of the Commonwealth and marked the beginning of a new Commonwealth year under the theme ‘Delivering a Common Future: Connecting, Innovating, Transforming’.

Guests were treated to entertainment from Rwandan musicians. The next Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) will be held in Kigali, Rwanda, in June this year.
