Mitigating the impact of HIV/Aids in Africa

A Leadership Roundtable on Mitigating the impact of HIV/AIDS in Africa was held at Commonwealth Secretariat headquarters Marlborough House on the 20th May.

The group assembled under the aegis of the Royal African Society and the Overseas Development Institute, in association with the Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation (USA), and represented a cross section of leadership from government, private industry and civil society.

They agreed to contribute substantively to mitigating the impact of Aids to the Commission for Africa, as well as to efforts to help inform the UK's leadership of the G8 and the EU in 2005, in order to achieve an enhanced and better coordinated financial response to the HIV/Aids crisis in Africa.
