Commonwealth, UNCTAD explore areas of co-operation

Commonwealth Deputy Secretary-General Ransford Smith (on the left in picture) paid a courtesy call on the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), Petko Dragnov (right), on 23 June 2009 at the latter's office in Geneva, Switzerland.

Mr Smith's visit was a follow-up to an earlier visit by Commonwealth Secretary-General Kamalesh Sharma during which Mr Sharma met UNCTAD Secretary-General Dr Supachai Panitchpakdi and the two discussed areas of possible collaboration between their two organisations.

Mr Smith and Mr Dragnov discussed further the matter of areas in which the two organisations can co-operate and collaborate.
