Channel will enable access to free broadcast quality videos for journalists around the globe
Broadcast and online journalists can now download from the web broadcast quality news content on development and democracy issues which affect nearly 2 billion Commonwealth citizens.
The videos which appear on the Commonwealth’s video channel cover subjects such as sustainable development, international trade, global finance, climate change, youth, gender, health, education, human rights and democracy.
In addition to previewing and downloading video from the Commonwealth’s news channel www.thenewsmarket.com/commonwealth, journalists can also access still pictures, press releases, register for email alerts and RSS feeds about new video.
“We aim to reach a growing audience that follows development issues via the internet and we believe we have found a solid partner to do so,” said Eduardo del Buey, Spokesperson for the Commonwealth Secretariat.
He noted that in a vibrant web-dominated marketplace, distribution of news content via the internet offered the Secretariat the cutting edge and brought it in line with other international organisations.
The current video upload for the Commonwealth Secretariat includes:
