Commonwealth’s engagement in Fiji Islands is discussed

Commonwealth Secretary-General Kamalesh Sharma held talks with his Special Representative for Fiji Islands Sir Paul Reeves and Foreign Minister Winston Peters in Auckland on 19 August 2008.

They discussed Pacific issues, including the Commonwealth's engagement in Fiji Islands.

The Secretary-General will leave for Alofi, Niue, today to attend the 39th Pacific Islands Forum Summit from 19 to 21 August.

Mr Sharma is scheduled to meet New Zealand's Governor-General Anand Satyanand and opposition Leader John Key on his return to Auckland on 22 August following the Forum meeting.
