Masire-Mwamba meets Solomon Islands Prime Minister

During the visit she also met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Leader of the Opposition, Speaker of the National Parliament, Chief Justice and Governor-General. She has held discussions on the Commonwealth’s relationship with Solomon Islands, including areas of possible technical assistance and the country’s hosting of the Regional Centre of the Commonwealth Youth Programme, which is located in Honiara. Mrs Masire-Mwamba attended the opening session of the National Parliament of Solomon Islands on 24 July 2008.

Mrs Masire-Mwamba continues her Pacific visit by representing Secretary-General Kamalesh Sharma at the Coronation Ceremony of the King of Tonga between 29 July and 2 August.
