Secretary-General meets Sri Lanka’s Foreign Minister

On his first day in office, Secretary-General Kamalesh Sharma met Sri Lanka’s Foreign Minister Rohitha Bogollagama this afternoon at Marlborough House
Mr Sharma expressed his pleasure to be visiting Sri Lanka so early in his tenure, to attend the Commonwealth Youth Ministers’ Meeting taking place from 27 to 30 April 2008.
Mr Sharma will address delegates to this meeting, setting out his vision as to how the Commonwealth can best address the issues facing youth, and incorporate them into global decision-making processes.
He stressed the importance of Ministers attending this meeting, since it will reinforce efforts to date to address the challenges and opportunities facing youth.
