Ransford Smith presented with World Food Day medal

The Director General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, Jacques Diouf, paid an official visit to the Commonwealth Secretariat on 24 October, 2007

Jacques Diouf was received by Deputy Secretary-General, Ransford Smith. Mr Smith and Dr Diouf reviewed existing cooperation in agriculture and fisheries, and agreed to make efforts to reinforce this, including through policy dialogue.

Dr Diouf presented Mr Smith with a World Food Day medal in recognition of the Commonwealth’s commitment to promoting development and addressing hunger.
