Declaration on Strengthening Co-operation in International Humanitarian Law

A declaration to strengthen co-operation in prioritising policies and programmes that promote respect for international humanitarian law has been produced at a meeting organised by the International Committee of the Red Cross on International Humanitarian Law in Nairobi, Kenya, from 19 to 21 July 2005.

The declaration was made by 60 delegates from Australia, Bangladesh, Barbados, Bostwana, Canada, Fiji Islands, The Gambia, India, Jamaica, Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, Malaysia, Maldives, Malta, Mauritius, Namibia, New Zealand, Pakistan, St Lucia, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Swaziland, Trinidad and Tobago, Uganda, United Kingdom, United Republic of Tanzania, and Zambia, as well as representatives from the Caribbean Community, the International Criminal Court and the International Committee of the Red Cross.
