Selection committee praised all applicants
Six broadcast journalists, who won places on the One World Fellowship Scheme, will arrive in London on 21 October 2007 to participate in a two week programme.
They will spend half a day shadowing in a broadcasting organisation and attend discussion groups where they will contribute ideas, share concerns and develop new goals.
More than 180 journalists from over 30 countries applied to the scheme. The final decision from the selection committee took into account gender balance, proven professional experience and fair regional representation. The potential to succeed in the media sector in the developing world was another key factor for the committee.
The Fellowships are partially funded by the Commonwealth Media Development Fund administered by the Commonwealth Secretariat.
