CYPCC participates in International Youth Day activities

"Climate Change and other environmental issues highlighted "

The Commonwealth Youth Programme Caribbean Centre (CYPCC)  participated in a number of events in Guyana in observance of International Youth Day 2008 on Tuesday August 12.

CYPCC Regional Director, Mr. Henry Charles delivered an address Tuesday evening at the First Caribbean Red Cross Youth Forum which was attended by several young people from more than 25 countries in the Caribbean region.

The purpose of the forum was to strengthen the capacity of Red Cross Youth volunteers and members by creating an opportunity for them to share ideas, programmes and experiences in a dynamic way while learning more about their role in the movement.

Meanwhile, CYP also participated in a Day of Interaction at the Sophia Primary School hosted by Guyana's Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport and attended by a number of young people from the community.

The activity gave the youth an opportunity to celebrate their achievements and discuss ways to better engage their peers in developing programmes that will contribute to the further enhancement of their communities.
