St Kitts and Nevis Deputy Prime Minister applauds CYP Respect and Understanding initiative

St Kitts and Nevis Deputy Prime Minister the Honourable Sam Condor has commended the Commonwealth Youth Programme for its sustained contribution to youth development

His comments were made at the opening ceremony of the Caribbean leg of the consultations on the Commonwealth's Respect and Understanding mandate which were held in St Kitts and Nevis from November 19 to 21, 2008.

Addressing more than 55 participants comprising youth leaders, civil society, non-governmental organizations and senior government officials from across the region, Minister Condor challenged the forum to seek to create synergies to better address the development of youth potential and youth challenges both at the national and community levels towards the achievement of the Commonwealth's respect and understanding agenda.

"The work of the Commonwealth Youth Programme must be commended for its fervent enthusiasm to find solutions to the region's problems…congratulations on your work thus far and I trust you will continue to give young people and other groups the platform to have their all-important views heard," the Minister emphasised.
