CYP to hold Open Education Resource and WikiEducator Training

The Commonwealth Youth Programme Regional Centre for Africa in partnership with the Zambia Centre for Accountancy Studies (ZCAS) will be holding a three (3) day training workshop in Open Education Resources (OER) and WikiEducator training. The workshop to be hosted by ZCAS will attract trainers from various institutions of learning from around Lusaka, Zambia. The workshop is one of the outcomes from the Community and Schools ICT Support Programme for Zambia. 

The workshop aims at building capacity in the development of Open Education Resources using WikiEducator hosted by the Commonwealth of Learning. Participants will commit to share the knowledge from the workshop by developing at least one free content resource on WikiEducator which could be a handout or worksheet to support classroom teaching, a professional development resource for educators or trainers, an workshop resource, a subsection for a free textbook resource or handbook, a unit or section for a distance education study guide, etc. 

The workshop is scheduled to take place from the 25^th to 27^th of June, 2008.

WikiEducatoris a community resource supported by the Commonwealth of Learning (COL) for the development of free educational content.
COL is an intergovernmental organisation created by Commonwealth Heads of Government to encourage the development and sharing of open learning and distance education knowledge, resources and technologies.
