Africa Region gets new RYC Coordinators

The Regional Youth Caucus (RYC) representative for Uganda, Mr. Samuel Kavuma has been elected as the new RYC Africa Region Coordinator, with an overwhelming majority votes over his only rival Mr. Baboucarr Camara, RYC representative from the Gambia. Mr. Kauma will be assisted by the new Deputy Coordinator Ms. Neema Buhile, RYC representative from Tanzania who won the election against Ms. Nomvelo Manana, RYC Representative from Swaziland .

 

The elections were held on the last day of the 2007 Africa Regional Advisory Board (RAB) meeting in Victoria, Mahe - Seychelles. The candidates first presented their manifestos to the RAB delegates followed by a question and answer session. Eighteen (18) RYC representatives were in attendance at the 2007 RAB meeting.

 

Mr. Samuel Kavuma takes over from Mr. Batsho Nthoi, Bostwana RYC while Ms. Neema Buhile takes over from Ms. Phyllis Andoh, Ghana RYC who have served for the period 2005 - 2007.

 

The RYC meeting preceded the RAB meeting from 28th to 29 September, 2007.
