The Secretary General of the Commonwealth His Excellency Mr. Kamalesh Sharma is visiting Zambia and the Commonwealth Youth Programme Regional Centre for Africa
The Secretary General of the Commonwealth His Excellency Mr. Kamalesh Sharma is visiting Zambia and the Commonwealth Youth Programme Regional Centre for Africa, for the first time since his appointment to office on 1st April, 2008. He arrived in Zambia on the 15th of September, 2010 and was received at the Airport by the Minister of Sport, Youth and Child Development Minister Mr. Kenneth Chipungu, other Senior Government Officials, the Regional Director for the Commonwealth Youth Programme Mr. James Odit and other members of Staff. He later had a meeting with the Honourable Minister of Sport, Youth and Child Development Minister Mr. Kenneth Chipungu.
Mr. Sharma is scheduled to hold meetings scheduled the Republican Head of State, His Excellency President Rupiah Banda; where he is expected to sign an Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Zambia and the Commonwealth Secretariat, the Minister of Foreign Affairs; Honourable Kabinga Pande; who is scheduled to host an Official Dinner for him at the Pamodzi Hotel, Commonwealth Heads of Missions at the Mulungushi International Conference Centre.
On Friday the 17th of September, Mr. Sharma is scheduled to visit the CYP Secretariat and the Chawama Youth Project, one of CYPRCA’s beneficiaries. He is later scheduled to have lunch with Co-operating Partners and in the evening, CYPRCA will be hosting a Cultural event with him. He will also have a press briefing at the Intercontinental hotel later in the evening. CYPRCA welcomes him and hopes that he will have a wonderful experience with the people of Zambia.
