Dabesaki Mac-Ikemenjima, Regional Youth Caucus Representative, Nigeria has won The RYC Innovative Project Award (RIPA) of GBP 500. Dabesaki is one of the second RYC Innovative Projects Award (RIPA) recipients, following the submission of his project, the Niger Delta Advocacy and the other winning project being Reproductive Health Awareness Campaign for Young people by Samuel Kavuma-Uganda.
The RYC Innovative Projects Award (RIPA) is an initiative which was borne out of a desire to promote, support and represent young people at all levels of decision-making, including a seat for the Pan-Commonwealth Youth Caucus Chair and a voice at the Ministerial table when Youth Ministers gather together for their periodic meetings. The programme seeks to encourage young people to develop innovative ideas that address a particular need in the community and the nation as a whole.
To strengthen the RYC initiative, the CYP RCA has periodically provided skills building opportunities to young people through training, internships, election monitoring and participation in youth development projects.
