Kevin David McGrath BSc is appointed as an Ambassador for the Commonwealth Youth Programme

Kevin McGrath is Senior Adviser to F&C REIT Asset Management, (www.fandcreit.com) and was previously Managing Director of the investment management company which has global property investment portfolio of over £8.5 billion and with offices in London, Dublin, Munich, Stockholm, and Mumbai and has now been appointed as an Ambassador for CYP

Kevin McGrath, one of the UK’s leading commercial property specialists, has been appointed as an Ambassador for the Commonwealth Youth Programme.

Kevin brings to the post enormous experience in both the commercial world and the voluntary sector.

He is Senior Adviser to F&C REIT Asset Management, (www.fandcreit.com) a company where he was previously Managing Director. F & C Reit, which he helped found, has a global property investment portfolio of over £8.5 billion, with offices in London, Dublin, Munich, Stockholm, and Mumbai. From REIT Asset Management's commencement in 1996 to its merger with Foreign and Colonial in 2008 Kevin was directly responsible for over £10 billion of property investment acquisitions and disposals.
 
Kevin is Chair of the McGrath Charitable Trust which includes in its range of activities the sponsoring of water wells in rural Uganda, school building in Sierra Leone and sponsoring students at CIDA in South Africa. He is also a trustee of the Guildford School of Acting; the Chartered Surveyors Training Trust; the Lyric Theatre Hammersmith (where he is also the Treasurer) ; the National Education Trust; the Prison Advice and Care Trust; the Victoria League for Commonwealth Friendship; the Howard League for Penal reform and is Founder and Trustee of Clink Restaurant Charity (www.theclinkonline.com); In addition he Chairs the Islamix Foundation (www.islamixonline.com) and the QPR football club ladies team.
 
He served as a Commissioner on the Howard League for Penal Reforms Commission on English Prisons under the leadership of Cherie Booth (www.prisoncommission.org.uk).
 
Kevin also has a political profile. He was a Labour candidate for the European Parliament 2009 elections, a candidate for the North East Hampshire parliamentary constituency at the 2005 General Election and for Ealing Council in the 2006 council Elections. He is currently on the governing body of the Ellen Wilkinson School for Girls and is the proprietor, and Chairman, of ‘Tribune’ the well-respected Labour-supporting weekly magazine.
