WTO launches new database on regional trade agreements

The WTO has launched a new database on regional trade agreements (RTAs). This contains all the relevant documentation received by the WTO following notification by a WTO member that an RTA has been established.

Finland donates EUR1.3 million to help least-developed countries benefit from trade

The Enhanced Integrated Framework aims at enabling least developed countries (LDC) to build their capacity to participate and benefit from international trade opportunities. The global partnership between LDCs, donor countries and international agencies assists LDCs in mainstreaming trade into their development strategies, coordinating the delivery of trade-related assistance and developing supply capacity.
Lamy: WTO is working to mitigate impact of economic crisis on trade

New online tool will monitor MDG achievement in Brazil

A new tool to monitor the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) in the local level has just been launched in Brazil. The MDG Portal (www.portalodm.org.br) is an online tool that shows social, economic and environmental indicators that will enable citizens to monitor the achievement of the MDGs in all 5,564 Brazilian municipalities. The MDGs are eight macro-level targets agreed by more than 190 UN member countries to improve people’s lives in a sustainable manner
