ITC gives developing countries free access to trade analysis tools
25 Jul 2008
The International Trade Centre aims to enhance the export potential of developing countries by giving them free access to market analysis tools that help to identify market and product diversification opportunities.
Thanks to financing from ITC’s Global Trust Fund and the World Bank, companies, trade support institutions, trade policy makers and academics can have access to these tools which analyze trade flows, import tariffs and foreign direct investment.
“The aim of this initiative is to strengthen the ability of companies from developing countries to direct their products to the right markets and so increase exports and promote development, ” said ITC Executive Director Patricia R. Francis.
Over the past 10 years, the Geneva-based ITC technical experts have used their extensive experience with trade partners to develop interactive resources. The easy-to-navigate web-based analytical interface offers detailed, up-to-date and relevant trade and market access data on predefined products in virtually all countries, especially developing ones. Business and investment information is also available for many markets.
