Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities

This 36-page publication in English and Braille advocates full and equal enjoyment of human rights for people with disabilities. They have faced discrimination and abuse, and have been unable to live life of their own choosing.

Countries that accept the Convention are obliged to take measures to promote the rights of people with disabilities through the implementation of legislation, policies and programmes, and by working to eliminate discrimination, prejudices and harmful practices.
