Commonwealth Secretariat Assistance to member countries - 2008/09

This report provides a summary of the activities supported by the Commonwealth Secretariat during 2008/09 under the Strategic Plan 2008/09-2011/12. The programme areas under which these activities fall now total eight, plus the Business Support Functions (BSF), as opposed to the previous sixteen programmes. The project descriptions in this report should be read in conjunction with the Annual Performance Report 2008/09 which highlights specific achievements under each of the Secretariat’s eight Programmes. These two documents have been prepared to meet the requirements of the Secretariat to report to member governments on the work of the Commonwealth Secretariat. They also contribute to raising wider awareness of the contribution to development that is made through the Commonwealth.
