Domestic Election Observers

Representatives of domestic election observer bodies from ten Commonwealth countries met in Kingston, Jamaica, in May 1999 to discuss key issues relating to their work, identify and promote best practice and enhance practical co-operation. This is the report of their discussions.

The Workshop of Commonwealth Domestic Election Observers was organised in co-operation with the Electoral Office of Jamaica and Citizens' Action for Free and Fair Elections. It was the second in a series of Commonwealth Secretariat workshops on the theme Deepening Democracy.
