The Commonwealth Youth Programme Africa Centre is located in Lusaka, Zambia and is one of four Centres established to serve the member countries of the Commonwealth. The Africa Centre responds to youth development for 21 countries of the Commonwealth including Cyprus, Malta, and United Kingdom. These 21 countries together have a total population of 347, 339, 251 million people. 

Significant diversity exists across the countries serviced by the Africa Centre. The smallest, Seychelles has an estimated population of about 81,000 and the largest in the group, Nigeria has a population of 130,002,000. English, Creole, Swahili, and French are the main languages in use however thousands of indigenous languages are also used among this diverse group.
