Tanzania is a member of the African Development Bank (AfDB), the East African Community (EAC) and the only East African country to be a member of the Southern African Development Community (SADC). It is also a member of the United Nations (UN); the site for the United Nations Criminal Tribunal on the Rwandan genocide is based in the town of Arusha.
Tanzania is a member of the World Trade Organization (WTO); the African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States (ACP); the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM); the African Union (AU); and the Indian Ocean Rim Association for Regional Cooperation (IOR-ARC).
