United Republic of Tanzania is a member of the African Development Bank, the East African Community, and the only East African country to be a member of the Southern African Development Community. It is also a member of the United Nations; the site for the United Nations Criminal Tribunal on the Rwandan genocide is based in the town of Arusha.
Tanzania is a member of the World Trade Organization; the African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States; the Non-Aligned Movement; the African Union; and the Indian Ocean Rim Association for Regional Cooperation.
