Canada - International relations

Together with the USA and Mexico, Canada is a member of the North America Free Trade Association. It is also a member of the United Nations, the World Trade Organization, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation, the Organization of American States, and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. The country is a participant in multilateral organisations which promote international peace and security and was instrumental in securing the Landmines Treaty in 1997.
