Canada - International relations

Together with the USA and Mexico, Canada is a member of the North America Free Trade Association (NAFTA). It is also a member of the United Nations (UN), the World Trade Organization (WTO), the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), the Organization of American States (OAS) and North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO). The country is a participant in multilateral organisations which promote international peace and security and was instrumental in securing the Landmines Treaty in 1997.
