Brunei Darussalam - International relations
Brunei Darussalam is a member of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). The country hosted the ASEAN Leaders Summit (and ASEAN+3) in November 2001, and the ASEAN Post Ministerial Conference and ASEAN Regional Forum in July/August 2002.
Brunei Darussalam is also a member of the United Nations (UN); Organization (WTO); the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM); the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC); and the Organisation of The Islamic Conference (OIC). In 2000 Brunei hosted and chaired the APEC meeting.
