This project was initiated in response to a request for technical assistance received from the Minerals Commission of Ghana, which sought advice and assistance in relation to the development of a new national mining policy.
The project involves the provision of advice by the Economic and Legal Section (ELS) on the development of a new national mining policy for Ghana, elements of which will require the preparation of advice on discrete policy, legal, economic and regulatory issues. It is also anticipated that the project will involve the provision of advice and assistance on the development of new mining regulations to complement and give effect to aspects of a new mining law recently enacted by Parliament.
