Since 1985, the Commonwealth Secretariat Debt Recording and Management System has helped around 54 Commonwealth and non-Commonwealth countries record and manage their debt. As part of this programme, the Secretariat has created and developed internationally-recognised computer software, known as CS-DRMS to assist countries keep track and analyse their debt. Countries from all four regions of the Commonwealth including Papua New Guinea, Jamaica, Nigeria and India use the software and receive regular training and support. In 2006, China also successfully adopted the programme to manage their multilateral debt.
