Conducted an Inquiry into allegations of race discrimination in a large Local Authority.

Counsel to the Kamlesh Bahl Inquiry conducted by Lord Griffiths.

Designated Independent Person adjudicating on allegations of misconduct against a senior officer of a local authority.

Practice:

All aspects of employment and discrimination law and the employment law aspects of pensions and administrative law. She acts for employers, employees and their representatives, giving advice and appearing before Courts and Tribunals at all levels involving both public and private sector employment issues.

Recent cases in the Court of Appeal in which Elizabeth Slade Q.C. has appeared include:

Leicestershire County Council v Unison [2006] IRLR 810 (the timing of consultation with trade unions before making universal changes in terms and conditions of employment), Home Office v Bailey [2005] ICR 1057 (equal pay),

Igen Ltd v Wong [2005] ICR 931, (the burden of proof in discrimination cases)

Webley v Department of Work and Pensions [2005] ICR 577 (fixed-term workers regulations). She has appeared in a number of leading employment law cases in the House of Lords including Nagarajan v London Regional Transport and
