The Commonwealth Day Observance will be held on Monday 10 March 2008, at Westminster Abbey, London.

AbbeyHer Majesty the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh are expected to attend the annual multi-faith observance.

Commonwealth Secretary-General Don McKinnon; Prime Minister Gordon Brown; Commonwealth High Commissioners; senior ministers and politicians from around the Commonwealth as well as 1,000 young people from schools and youth organisations from the United Kingdom have been invited to the service.

The theme for the observance for Commonwealth Day 2008 is ‘The Environment – Our Future.’ Dances and songs will be performed at the service and five personal testimonies from eminent persons on the challenges to our environment will be given.
