Hub and Spokes Team

Nimrod Waniala

Nimrod is the Manager of the Hub and Spokes Project. He is responsible for the overall management of a network of Trade Policy Analysts and six Regional Policy Advisers in the Africa, Caribbean and Pacific regions.

Prior to joining the Secretariat in June 2005, Nimrod worked in both the private and public sectors in Uganda. Some of his previous roles include Executive Director, Private Sector Foundation Uganda (PSFU); Senior Trade Policy Advisor, Ministry of Tourism Trade and Industry; and Director, Trade Policy Capacity Building Project of PSFU; Deputy Director of Export Policy Analysis  and Development Unit in the Ministry of Finance and as Principal Banking Officer, Bank of Uganda.

Elroy Turner

Elroy Turner is the Assistant Manager of the Hub and Spokes Project. He assists the project manager with the administration of a network of Trade Policy Analysts and six Regional Policy Advisers in the Africa, Caribbean and Pacific regions.

Elroy’s past jobs include Adviser to Antigua and Barbuda’s Minister of Trade, Commerce and Economic Development and Engineer at the Eastman Kodak Company in Rochester, New York.

Kwadwo Frempong

Kwadwo is a Project Officer on the Secretary-General’s Hub and Spokes Project.  His main duties are research and policy analysis and assisting with financial analysis, logistics and data reporting
 
Before joining the Secretariat, Kwadwo worked for Greenpeace UK, the International Centre for Trade and Sustainable Development in Geneva, Switzerland, Trade Network Africa UK and a number of other capacity building projects.
 
He holds a BA in Political Science, MA in Innovation Studies and BSC in International Development.

Sandeesh Johal

Sandeesh Johal’s main role as administrative assistant for the Hub and Spokes Project is to provide administrative and human resource support to trade policy experts and advisers who have taken up assignments in African, Caribbean and Pacific Regions.

Prior to joining the Commonwealth Secretariat in 2006, Sandeesh worked as a Human Resources Administrator in the local government sector. In 2001, she obtained a BA Joint Honours degree in Law and Sociology from the University of Warwick.
