Our Work

The Commonwealth Secretariat’s current work programme on sustainability focuses on; climate change, sustainable development, human settlements, the management of natural resources, environment law and disaster risk management.

These areas have crucial importance to the development opportunities of many of our small and most vulnerable member states and achieving progress in these sectors is an essential step towards meeting the Millennium Development Goals.
