Iwokrama

The Secretariat continues to support the Iwokrama International Rain Forest Programme in Guyana through its position on the Board of Trustees and advice on development of the governance structures.

JaguarCFTC has provided critical support from the inception of the Iwokrama Programme through the provision of short- and long-term assistance totalling 22.5 person years.

It is currently supporting the position of the Director General of the Iwokrama International Centre and providing experts to build the capacity of Iwokrama to develop appropriate business ventures in areas such as sustainable forest utilisation and conservation, ecotourism and other service-oriented businesses.

A new Chair of the Board of Trustees was recently appointed.
