Headquarters

Since 1965, Marlborough House in London, UK has served as the official headquarters of the Commonwealth Secretariat. Many of the organisation’s functions are carried out from either Marlborough House or a newer building, Quadrant House which is directly across the street.

Marlborough House, Headquarters of the Commonwealth SecretariatThe London headquarters is home to the Secretary General's Office and most of the three hundred plus staff members and the organisation's key divisions. These divisions are Legal and Constitutional Affairs, Political Affairs, Economic Affairs, Youth Affairs, Governance and Institutional Development, Social Transformation Programmes, Special Advisory Services, Strategic Planning and Evaluation, Communications and Public Affairs and Corporate Services.

Besides carrying out the Secretariat's key functions, the headquarters continues to serve as a base for many intergovernmental meetings and negotiations.
