Technical Assistance
The Enterprise and Agriculture Section (EAS) of the Special Advisory Services Division (SASD) provides technical assistance to strengthen agricultural and enterprise competitiveness, particularly at the level of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
Key Areas of Work:
- Assisting Commonwealth member governments with the development of national and sectoral SME strategies and policies
- Promoting the development and growth of SMEs through effective implementation and use of information and communication technologies (ICTs)
- Assisting member countries and SMEs in complying with international agricultural standards, including sanitary and phytosanitary (SPS) measures
- Assisting member governments with planning, establishment and promotion of SME incubators, clusters and networks
- Capacity building to improve effectiveness of business service providers and business management skills of SME operators.
