RYC Representative – The Gambia

My name is Baboucarr Camara and I am 23 years old. I currently work with the Technical Directorate of the Department of State for Youth and Sports as Youth Officer.

I have attended Basic, Upper and Senior Secondary Schooling with an excellent academic performances ranging from Local to International Set Examination Standards. I equally posses tertiary education with three Diplomas in: Management, Community Management and Projects, Information Technology and currently pursuing a BA(Hons) in Economics and Management with minors in Development Studies at the University of the Gambia and the Commonwealth Youth Diploma in Youth in Development Work at the Management Development Institute.

I started working as a part time Geography Teacher, Media Reporter, Mail Administrator, Youth Officer ( then government employee overseeing all youth activities within the Kanifing Municipality), Youth and Community Development Worker (Dundee – UK) and HIV/AIDS Focal Point for the Department of State for Youth and Sports.

I have equally served as Secretary General – Ex of the Kanifing Municipal Youth Committee (KMYC) and the Youth Against AIDS Network the Gambia and has Founded Youth in Development.

I am among the extroverts of my time and fits extremely well into both the modern theories and practices that governs the development of a society.
