I am a 23 year old Jamaican who considers myself to be very focused, ambitious,outgoing and self-motivated. I recently completed a Masters Degree in ClinicalPsychology at the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus. Presently I amthe co-founder of the M&N Foundation for Aspiring Youths a charityorganization founded in 2010 to provide young Jamaicans with opportunities forscholarship, mentorship and social skills training. It is my ambition to workto support and inspire young people in Jamaica. I strongly believe that with myknowledge and capabilities I will be able to make a meaningful impact on theyouth population in Jamaica.
At present my advocacy efforts are focusedon addressing the issues that affect the health and well-being of young peopleas I believe this has far reaching implications for other areas of life. Overthe years I have had the opportunity as a youth advocate to participate inseveral initiatives both locally and internationally. Included in myexperiences are opportunities to facilitate a number of workshops aimed atyouth empowerment, speaking on issues related to youth sexual and reproductivehealth and rights which include campus tours through the U.S and lobby meetingsin Washington D.C. and most recently participation in the financial literacytrainers workshop hosted by the Commonwealth Secretariat in the Bahamas as wellas representation at the International Youth Foundation Employ-abilityconference in D.C.
During my tenure as a Commonwealth YouthAmbassador I hope to further my work in the area of youth developmentparticularly targeting vulnerable and marginalized youth
