Dwynette D. Eversley

Ms Dwynette D. Eversley is a national of Trinidad and Tobago and Programme Manager for the CYP Caribbean Centre in Guyana.

Ms. Eversley has been involved in development work in the Caribbean for several years, having worked at the Barbados-based Caribbean Centre for Development Administration in the area of public sector management and strategic planning and as Technical Consultant to a maritime sector development project that covered twenty-two countries of the Wider Caribbean.   She lists French and Spanish as alternate working languages. She also served with the Government of Trinidad and Tobago, most latterly as Acting Director of Maritime Services.

She began her professional life as a secondary school teacher working with young people, listening to their dreams, encouraging them to do more.  She sees obvious links with her current posting to the CYPCC.

"Youth development is not a static absolute and young people must be more assertive in shaping where they want to go and grasping opportunities that are available."
