Neema Deogratius Buhile – Deputy Coordinator of the Africa Region

Neema Deogratius Buhile, 25, holds a Diploma in Social Studies from the Mwalimu Nyerere Academy of Social Studies. She currently works as the Secretary-General of the Youth Against Poverty Network (YAPNET).

Neema has attended a myriad of capacity building workshops for NGO’s. She also attended the Commonwealth Youth Programme’s Regional Youth Caucus and Regional Advisory Board Meeting in Seychelles in August 2007. In November 2007, Neema represented Tanzania at the sixth Commonwealth Youth Forum in Uganda.

She was among one of the Vijana Vision Members who founded MAMUPAKI, the project for forest conservation at Kisarawe Coastal Region, and it’s still ongoing. She carried out research on ‘The Problems Facing Young Entrepreneurs in Coastal Regions” organised by Youth Against Poverty Network.

Her areas of interest are poverty and development planning, public policy and development, urbanisation and its impacts, and rural development.
