Sustainable Development

Small states are particularly vulnerable to certain environmental threats and external economic shocks.

Environment

They also face special constraints in trying to achieve environmentally sustainable development.

Yet it is sustainable development that provides the framework for reducing vulnerability of small states through the preservation of life-supporting ecosystems and a strong social fabric.
